Finally we are now happy to report that we are into the final phase of our new kitchen fit out here at The Greyhound. Having opened our doors just 9 weeks ago we have been overwhelmed at the amazing support we have received.
Serving good food is our next step and we are really keen to ensure that we are able to do this properly in our new fully functioning kitchen. We have gutted this area of the pub completely and done almost all the work ourselves, we’ve built a new professional kitchen complete with a large walk in cold store fridge, possible by moving a couple of walls and relocating doors and windows. We totally appreciate that it may seem as if it is taking a really long time but promise we are getting there and are very much of the opinion that there isn’t anything to be gained by rushing and getting it wrong, especially as we have been so touched by all your positive feedback to date about what we have done with the pub. As soon as the kitchen is open and we are serving food we will share the news here with you!
So what else have we been up to here?….
We have had time to work on our wines though over this past week and were thrilled to welcome 36 of our lovely locals last Wednesday evening to join us for an evening of wine tasting and cheeseboards, all in the name of research to help us put together our pub wine list.
We welcomed the experts to come in for the evening and run this with us, sampling of great whites, red and rose wine and a dessert offering to finish on, their extensive feedback helped us to narrow it down and we are taking delivery of the new selection this week.
To top it off as this was a complimentary
evening, it was lovely to see how generous they are were with donations for our chosen charity, Hopsice in the Weald, thank you everyone! Our running total is now at an amazing £6,531!
As we are continuing to enjoy some finer weather we are still making the most of our lovely pub garden, and great to see so many families out dog walking, cyclists and walkers regularly dropping by to see us.
You can enjoy delicious local ciders here as we have a fantastic range of “Kentish to the Core” available at the bar from Dudda’s Tun.
Don’t miss trying Hofmeister here, we are proud to be on trend with this on our bar right now, check out this article featured in our local Courier newspaper this week. Even the Hofmeister bosses popped in for a pint!
As you know we have been working really hard over the past few months to breathe some new life into this lovely pub after purchasing the freehold. It is our home in this beautiful countryside spot as well as our new business and we intend to ensure that everyone visiting receives a warm welcome and enjoys their experience here with us. We look forward to meeting you if you’ve not been to see us yet and hope you like what we have achieved with our lovely pub so far.
