We are Richard and Fran, the proud new owners of The Greyhound Charcott!
This is our first pub venture together and we have bought the freehold here so are absolutely determined to make this a great pub for you to come and enjoy spending time with us.
We are a local couple who are both from this area; so know it well and appreciate how beautiful a spot we are located in. There are so many lovely walks, local attractions and cycle routes in and around this area so lots to combine with your visit to see us.
We’re offering a relaxed traditional pub feel here at The Greyhound; it’s not formal or gastro as we are about simple pub time, good beer, wine and times with families and friends, the important time out time in life as every other moment these days is filled to the brim and busy!
Here we are seeking to bring you great products and locally sourced produce at good fair prices and in perfect condition for you to appreciate and enjoy. This is our home as well as our business and we’ll welcome you to both so come see us, talk to us and get to know us.
We also have a farm in Weald and we run this alongside our pub. Many of you may know that Richard has had a long love of animals for several years and has been rearing his own livestock along with his late father Ray. He enjoys producing his own produce from the farm and we are enjoying bringing that to the table through our own pub kitchen.
We aim to bring you the freshest and best local produce available straight to your plate. We have worked hard completely refurbishing the kitchen here, it’s been a total gut out of what was here and a complete rebuild, we’ve moved the doors, windows and walls around to create a new light bright airy space to work in complete with a new walk in cold store fridge. We are pleased to have received lots of positive feedback since opening our kitchen almost eighteen months ago now, it’s notching up a gear as we expanded our team by welcoming Sean, our head chef in October 2018 and we are enjoying working together to keep a great menu on offer full of fresh and tasty local dishes, using the best produce close to us here in Kent.
We have both always had a love of bringing the best service possible to whomever we are working with both as internal colleagues and external customers. Through a variety and wealth of experience in events, catering, charity, corporate and hospitality work, we have now brought all this experience together to be able to buy and run our own pub. We hope you will enjoy and support it, it has certainly given Charcott its heart back and has a real sense of community spirit here.
